Architecture students on a scientific trip to Malaysia

Department of Architecture and Urban Engineering at the University of Science and Technology carried out a scientific trip to Malaysia within the framework of training programs and updating students on the latest building technology, planning aspects, the architectural leap of cities in such countries as well as getting acquainted with buildings various functions and architectural forms there. Head of Architecture and Urban Engineering at UST, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb Hassan Al-Fatih, said that the benefit of visiting Malaysia will accrue to students by learning about buildings design with different functions, preparing them for international labor markets, and creating relationships with universities abroad.

He indicated that the trip is consistent with the strategy of UST administration and the department’s leadership for keeping it a pioneering university. Students of the Department of Architecture left the country to Malaysia on a scientific trip that extends for 15 days, accompanied by two supervisors from the Deanship of Student Affairs and Professor Doaa Khaled from the Department of Architecture and Urban Engineering.  They visited many places and locations including chocolate factory, the Aquarium, the Twin Towers, Langkawi Island, in addition to a field visit to the tropical fruit farm, the crocodile garden, Formula racing ring. They reached to the shore of Thai border, fish farms and marine organisms in the region as well as mangrove forests on the Thai border as the mission will return next Tuesday.
