University of Science and Technology announced the expansion of its initiative base for supporting Ahmed Gasim Hospital as to involve other institutions, businessmen, UST students and graduates to contribute to the initiative that comes under the slogan of (Eiydana lay Al Balad – hands for home).
According to the initiative information centre, their campaign is aimed at developing the hospital specialized in children heart and kidney diseases and receives limited income patients and that these diseases of high therapeutic expensive are a burden on citizens especially disadvantaged ones. The initiative campaign aims to establish new wards for patients, laboratories that equipped with the latest medical devices, rehabilitating operations rooms with the required devices and equipment as well as improving the hospital general environment and establishing a fund for supporting patients.
It is to be noted that the university had taken (50%) of the project’s costs within the framework of its social responsibility towards community and is working on mobilizing other public and private sectors efforts to complete remaining requirements.
