UST Chairman; The University will adopt awards that encourage entrepreneurship and innovation

UST chairman, Dr. Al Moataz Al Birair stated that the University is progressing tremendously to be a digital one that helps transforming society to be productive and contributes to sustainable development. While addressing the workshop organised by Al Birair Center for Entrepreneurship and innovation he also said that there is a movement suits the University and that nations develop through entrepreneurship which contributes to poverty fighting and entering the production cycle via sustainable development mentioning India as an example by reaching the fifth level internationally through small scale industries. He also stated that UST is adopting and supporting specific projects and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation as well as allocating awards for students from inside and outside UST in the areas of entrepreneurship and scientific research with the aim of reaching international levels. He disclosed that UST will witness major changes at the beginning of the new year through new rules and academic regulations, restructuring, and creating research centers that support innovation, pointing out that medical research center building about to be completed, in addition to completion of Medecine college requirements including the scientific journal that already professionally published four issues.
As for the new year great projects, he mentioned the alternative power project and importing solar based buses for serving UST staff and these projects are implemented gradually to be completed within 2 year phase.
The international expert Dr. Amir Hassan as consultant for Arab international center for entrepreneurship in Bahrain in the workshop under titled (Universities, entrepreneurship and innovation) that supervised and honoured by UST chairperson, discussed developments that humanity experienced till reaching the stage of entrepreneurship which he considers as the 4th revolution that based on connecting information and linking innovations and entrepreneurship with services it provides humanity, pointing out the necessity of making entrepreneurship as part of UST’s strategy.
